The combination is expected to improve the financial standing of Westinghouse Solar allowing the company to better serve its established customers in the US and creating a more solid platform for international growth. For CBD, the merger provides an immediate point of access to the North American market driving rapid expansion for the combined business.
Westinghouse Solar and CBD have already begun exploring the development of commercial projects and partnerships in North America. In addition, CBD has begun introducing the Westinghouse Solar products to its Australian distribution partners and is pursuing opportunities to increase contract volumes with its current customers who would deploy the Westinghouse Solar technology.
Westinghouse Solar will continue to produce and sell its rooftop solar power systems in the US and will have near-term opportunities to distribute its systems in Australia and Europe through CBD...

GE to power Darlowo - Phase Two wind projects in Poland
Invenergy Wind and Polish development company Enerco are collaborating to develop nine wind energy generation projects in the region in and around Darlowo, near the Baltic Sea.
GE provided 32 wind turbines for Darlowo - Phase One, which was fully commissioned in March 2011 and now produces 80MW of power. Darlowo - Phase One is comprised of the Weikowice, Jezyce and Dobieslaw projects.
Darlowo - Phase Two, comprised of the Boryszewo, Krupy, Stary Jaroslaw and Nowy Jaroslaw facilities, will bring the total installed capacity of wind energy in the Darlowo area to 175MW....

Gamesa to install first offshore prototype G128 in Spain
Gamesa expects to begin the installation of the prototype in the second quarter of 2013, with a view to achieving certification in the following months, to permit the installations of the pre-series turbines in an offshore wind farm towards the end of 2013 or early 2014.
Following extensive research to identify suitable sites, Gamesa selected Arinaga on the basis of technical considerations for certification, wind conditions in the region, market performance and customer investment plans and its forecast.
