JinkoSolar said its WING series modules are marked by improved ergonomic design and aesthetics. Thinner at 30 to 40 millimeters thick, the 0.5 kilogram lightweight modules are optimized for ground mount systems, yet also ideal for rooftop applications. The size and weight improvements increase packing density to allow for 6 solar modules rather than 3 per box, thus enabling a significant reduction in transportation costs.
Additional design improvements include rounded corners to make the installation process safer and more convenient. Junction boxes applied to WING series are potted junction box with IP 67 protection standard. This effectively protects key module components from water damage and extreme conditions by using a large area of copper for heat dissipation.
Along with improvements to the physical structure, the WING series also achieves an increase in efficiency. The power output of a 60-cell polycrystalline solar module can reach up to 260W with a conversion efficiency of 16.05 percent. Neste Oil starts NExBTL renewable diesel production from fish fat
The fat comes from the gutting waste generated when processing freshwater pangasius farmed in Southeast Asia after the fillets have been removed for human consumption.
As with all the other renewable inputs used by Neste Oil, the waste fish fat complies with the strict sustainability requirements of the EU's Renewable Energy Directive, said Neste Oil. The batch can be traced all the way back to the fish farm. Waste fish fat is also accepted as a raw material for renewable fuel in the US.
The NExBTL renewable diesel cuts greenhouse gas emissions by approximately 84 percent when compared to fossil diesel and calculated over the fuel's entire life cycle. Using NExBTL diesel also reduces tailpipe and fine particulate emissions significantly.
"It makes good ecological sense to use waste and sidestreams to produce advanced, premium-quality renewable fuel, which is why our goal this year is to increase the amount of by-products and waste we use as raw materials by hundreds of thousands of tons compared to 2011," said Matti Lehmus, Neste Oil's executive vice president of oil products and renewables....

Trina Solar bags 2.1MW off-grid project in Tibet
The agreement marks an important milestone for Trina Solar in the Chinese market, where the company is expanding its commercial presence.
The 2.1MW project is Trina Solar's largest off-grid system project in China in recent years, following the construction of approximately 40 standalone power stations in 2002 in the Chamdo region of Tibet.
Mark Kingsley, chief commercial officer of Trina Solar, said: "This off-grid project, which differs from utility scale projects in terms of set-up and components, will use our specially-designed PC20 off-grid modules. We believe the off-grid market has the potential to bring another dimension of growth to the company....

KACO partners Ampt to increase solar inverter power output
Through the partnership, KACO’s inverters will be optimized to operate in Ampt Mode, when deployed in conjunction with Ampt’s module-level DC/DC converters, resulting in an inverter cost savings of up to 40 percent or more.
Using KACO inverters in Ampt Mode, system integrators will be able to achieve up to an 80 percent increase in inverter output power. By operating in Ampt Mode the optimized inverters dissipate less power per kilowatt increasing operating efficiency and reliability, said Ampt.
This is a result of lower balance of system (BOS) and reduced inverter costs as well as maximum power generation from every solar module. Additionally the higher energy production and potential savings in operation and maintenance (O&M) further increase the project ROI...
