DONG Energy connects Walney Offshore Wind Farm to UK’s grid

The world's largest offshore wind farm in Barrow-in-Furness, Cumbria, is owned by DONG Energy (50.1 percent, operator) and its partners SSE (25.1 percent) and the OPW consortium consisting of the Dutch pension fund PGGM and the Ampère Equity Fund which together own 24.8 percent.

DONG Energy said it managed to construct Walney 2 in the fastest ever time for an offshore wind project, with all turbines and cables installed in just five months and 13 days.
