JinkoSolar unveils high efficiency WING series modules
JinkoSolar said its WING series modules are marked by improved ergonomic design and aesthetics. Thinner at 30 to 40 millimeters thick, the 0.5 kilogram lightweight modules are optimized for ground mount systems, yet also ideal for rooftop applications. The size and weight improvements increase packing density to allow for 6 solar modules rather than 3 per box, thus enabling a significant reduction in transportation costs.
Additional design improvements include rounded corners to make the installation process safer and more convenient. Junction boxes applied to WING series are potted junction box with IP 67 protection standard. This effectively protects key module components from water damage and extreme conditions by using a large area of copper for heat dissipation.
Along with improvements to the physical structure, the WING series also achieves an increase in efficiency. The power output of a 60-cell polycrystalline solar module can reach up to 260W with a conversion efficiency of 16.05 percent. Neste Oil starts NExBTL renewable diesel production from fish fat
The fat comes from the gutting waste generated when processing freshwater pangasius farmed in Southeast Asia after the fillets have been removed for human consumption.
As with all the other renewable inputs used by Neste Oil, the waste fish fat complies with the strict sustainability requirements of the EU's Renewable Energy Directive, said Neste Oil. The batch can be traced all the way back to the fish farm. Waste fish fat is also accepted as a raw material for renewable fuel in the US.
The NExBTL renewable diesel cuts greenhouse gas emissions by approximately 84 percent when compared to fossil diesel and calculated over the fuel's entire life cycle. Using NExBTL diesel also reduces tailpipe and fine particulate emissions significantly.
"It makes good ecological sense to use waste and sidestreams to produce advanced, premium-quality renewable fuel, which is why our goal this year is to increase the amount of by-products and waste we use as raw materials by hundreds of thousands of tons compared to 2011," said Matti Lehmus, Neste Oil's executive vice president of oil products and renewables....

E.ON off to a positive start in 2012, anticipates €2.7 billion FY income
E.ON’s sales rose by 28 percent year on year to €35.7 billion, owing in particular to higher sales in the Optimization & Trading segment. This was primarily the result of an increase in trading activity to optimize E.ON’s generation fleet. The Renewables, Germany, and Russia segments also posted higher sales. Sales were significantly lower in the Generation segment due to the absence of output from nuclear power stations in Germany that were mandatorily shut down in 2011.
E.ON’s first-quarter investments in property, plant, and equipment, intangible assets, and shareholdings totaled €1.2 billion, roughly the same as the prior-year figure.
Operating cash flow declined by 51 percent year on year to roughly €450 million. Positive effects from the EBITDA increase and a decline in working capital were more than offset by significant withholding taxes which E.ON expects to be refunded in the second half of the year...

Vattenfall launches first ocean energy engineering firm Nautimus
The company will fulfill the engineering, procurement, integration and construction (EPC) needs of wave power and tidal stream projects on behalf of utility clients. As a technology neutral player, Nautimus will work with technology developers, such as Pelamis Wave Power (PWP), delivering schemes to the final owner, such as Vattenfall.
The partnership has been established to address the absence of EPC services players in the ocean energy sector capable of handling the wide ranging challenges associated with constructing projects with new technology offshore. The gap, if unfilled, would pose a significant problem for the sector if, as expected, ocean energy schemes are deployed in increasing numbers before 2020.
Nautimus’ first client is likely to be Aegir, Vattenfall’s 10MW wave farm with PWP planned for construction from 2016 off Shetland, if the project secures the necessary consents....

GE delivers generator sets for Milwaukee biogas power project
The biogas project will convert waste from area food processing operations into a reliable supply of renewable energy for the tribal community as well as the local grid.
GE delivered two Waukesha APG1000 Enginator biogas engines to FCPC. The Waukesha plant employs 680 people, including 385 production workers.
An anaerobic digester will process the food processor waste-to-produce biogas that will fuel GE’s Waukesha engines in the CHP plant. The engines are designed specifically to run on biogases that are rich in methane, a potent greenhouse gas.
